This book started life as part of my Henry Methold ‘practise’ novel. I knew the full novel wasn’t commercial, but there was a chunk in the middle I felt could be turned into something publishable.  So with a large amount of editing, cutting characters, cutting plot strands, strengthening what was left, I ended up with a 50,000 word Regency romance novella, which I self-published.
